Igota respects the privacy of its users. This policy explains the types of information we may collect and how we use, protect, retain, and delete it.
1. Information we collect
When you use Igota, we may collect information you provide, such as your display name, email address, service provider profile details, specialties, services, photos, and content you publish.
We may process location data when you grant the app permission to do so, to show nearby service providers and requests and calculate distances.
We also process content you send through the app, such as requests, conversations, messages, photos, videos, files, and locations shared in conversations.
We may process technical information needed to operate the app, such as push notification tokens and device information needed to deliver notifications and run the service.
2. How we use information
We use information to operate Igota services; create and manage accounts; show nearby service providers and requests; enable communication between users; send notifications; manage reviews and reports; operate advertising and service provider profile promotion features; improve app performance and security; and prevent misuse.
3. Location
Igota uses location to provide features based on proximity and distance.
A service provider’s precise coordinates are not shown to other users in ordinary search results.
You can control location access in your device settings.
4. Conversations and content
Users can exchange messages, photos, videos, files, and locations through Igota.
Conversations and content may be retained as needed to provide the service, preserve its integrity and security, and handle reports or disputes when necessary.
5. Sharing information
We do not sell users’ personal data.
Information may be processed or shared as needed with technical service providers that help operate Igota, such as hosting, email, and notification services, or when required by applicable laws and regulations.
6. Account and data deletion
You can request deletion of your Igota account in the app through: My Account ← Settings ← Delete Account.
When you confirm deletion, personal data associated with the account, such as your name, email address, phone number, photo, and location, is removed. Your service provider profile, requests, and promotions are deactivated, and notification tokens linked to the account are disabled.
We may retain some records as needed for legitimate purposes, such as maintaining the service’s integrity and security, preventing misuse and fraud, resolving disputes, and complying with legal requirements. These records may include some conversations, messages, reviews, and reports.
When these records are retained, identifying information associated with the account is removed or hidden where appropriate, and the account may appear under a generic name such as “Deleted user”.
Account deletion is final and cannot be undone.
7. Data retention
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the service and fulfill the purposes described in this policy, or to meet legal and security obligations.
When information is no longer needed, it is deleted or de-identified or its identity is hidden, according to the nature of the data and the purpose for retaining it.
8. Information security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information from unauthorized access, use, modification, or disclosure.
However, no means of transmitting or storing data electronically can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
9. Device permissions
Igota may request permissions such as location, photos or media, and notifications, depending on the features you use.
These permissions are used to provide the related functions, and you can control them in your device settings.
10. Children’s privacy
Igota is not intended for children below the minimum age permitted to use the service under applicable laws, and we do not knowingly seek to collect children’s personal data in violation of legal requirements.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy as Igota develops, as our information processing changes, or in response to legal requirements.
The updated version will be published with its last updated date.
